I brought my IPOD shuffle with me on the trip because I thought it would be nice to have a little distraction at different points on my hike. Unfortunately, I fell asleep one night with it on so the battery didn’t last very long.
Now, I’ve taken to writing my own songs.
One is called “Where on Adelaide’s body are there bug bites?” It goes to the tune of “Head and shoulders, knees and toes.” I ended up keeping most of the lyrics from the original.
I’m also working on a rap version of “California Love” for the Appalachian Trail. More as this develops.
